BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur tried to douse the rumour-mill by clearly saying that there is no series planned between Pakistan and India for 2016.
Anurag Thakur: in December 2015, there was a high chance of a limited over series being played between two nations when Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj visited Pakistan. But now there is no chance to play a bilateral series again Pakistan in 2016.
He also say India will be playing against Pakistan in multinational tournaments like Asia Cup and the ICC World T20. And India has been playing them for many years with Pakistan.”
After the short series proposed to be held last month in December did not come through, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had expressed hope that a limited-over series with India could happen this year in England.
Now time to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) how they respond to this statement, Chairman PCB Shahryar Khan already says that Pakistan participate in World T20 with Government Permeation.
